| Sept 6th married 35 years to my Adventurous Feller. I made an ice cream cake & we went out to eat for the occasion. |
* Fri 11th - Went to tailgate football party hosted by the electric/telephone company for their customer appreciation BBQ of hotdogs & chips snack bags due to Covid, lots of hungry disappointed folks, though the concession stand probably did very good.

* Sat 12th - Facetimed with Grands, they have been working on their Christmas wish lists. My Moma made it to her new home moving cross country with my sister, I love the fireplace & can hardly wait to see how they decorate it when I visit come spring.
* Sun 13th - Up at 3 am & headed to our camping spot, snow capped mountains appeared as we got closer to the Big Horns. Camped a couple hours from Yellow Stone, not been there yet but hope to get there someday. Set up camp then went for ride on the side by side. Took a hike to Porcupine Falls. Saw lots of wildlife during the day - turkeys, deer, snowshoe rabbit, snake, squirrels & elk, lots of elk.
* Mon 14th - I washed up in heated outhouse, my tent camping luxury. Went riding, saw a few fall colors & rocks that look like hugh sponges. Got 2 day fishing license & pie, Kevin's slice was caramel apple mine mountain medley - a mix of strawberries & rhubarb, we ate half then traded - Mmmmm. Met up with Kevin's hunting buddy, talked elk & fishing, rode to top of mountain & watched elk 2 to 3 miles away through binoculars till too dark too see them anymore.
* Wed 16th - Gray jays - camp robbers were uninvited guests for breakfast. Spent extra time in outhouse warming up. Had another good day of fishing, saw another moose. Rode to top of mountain to see elk, had cell service up there so checked messages, Grand had a bicycle wreak & got lots of cuts & scratches on his arms & hands. * Wed 23rd - Called Moma & Sister to see how they were doing in their new place. They said a good thing about the moving truck not arriving for weeks gave them time to deep clean, paint walls & take up carpet to reveal beautiful wood floors. They mentioned getting a new couch & Moma got poison oak from working out in the yard.
* Thurs 24th - This has been an expensive month according to the Cabalas card statement - home insurance, new tires for Kevin's truck, me to the dentist, fall stock up of food & personal items, Christmas shopping. We use the card for the rewards & pay off the balance at the end of each month.
* Fri 25th - Happy Daughter's Day! Hotdogs or grouse for supper?

* Sat 26th - Got a little dab of much needed rain in the morning, some leaves on trees in backyard were curling up & falling off before getting their pretty fall color. Walked to work in the rain. Did a little side hustle cleaning job in the afternoon for a friend that has hunters coming. Daughter's family went to an amusement park fall festival - everything pumpkin. Something "magical" was put into Olivia's hand, they didn't know what till they saw the picture. Happy Birthday to my sister Sharon.
These are a few of the things that's been going on in my neck of the woods, how about you?

Whew what a month! We used to camp and I miss it...well actually I miss the getting away and sleeping outside:)
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy tent camping. We've talked about getting a camper for years, though we do a lot of back country camping in places we would probably not be able to pull a camper too. We camped every weekend in July. We took the grandboys camping during their summer visit. We sleep on the ground if it's just overnight camping. The blow up bed comes out for several nights of camping.
DeleteBusy busy! Fun to read.
ReplyDeleteKeeping busy keeps us young....LOL!
DeleteOh, the camping and all the wildlife sightings, sound heavenly!
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a good eye for seeing wildlife & is always on the lookout. Me not so much, I'm usually day dreaming about all kinds of other stuff..LOL!
DeleteSuch fun reading about your camping adventures. Kind of crazy that you had to go into the outhouse to warm up!! Love the idea of catching your fish and having them for dinner the same night. We camped a bit when I was a child but have hardly gone a time as an adult. Maybe someday. Hope your mom and sister settle into their new home. What luck to discover beautiful hard wood floors under their carpet!!
ReplyDeleteKevin is an outdoor enthusiast & I like to go along. Food always tastes better on a picnic. Moma's furniture finally arrived & they are doing well.
DeleteIt sounds like you had a lovely month, Karen. Congratulations on 35 years of marriage. That's impressive!
